What is Intimacy Coaching?

We get guidance on our careers, our finances, our fitness, and our mental health. But intimacy — one of the most fundamental dimensions of a well-lived life — is largely left to chance. We pick up fragments from culture, from partners, from experience, and cobble together some approximation of a connected, alive intimate life without ever receiving meaningful support or education.

Intimacy coaching changes that.

The Simple Definition

The Easiest Way to Explain It

Intimacy coaching is structured, personalized support for the parts of life most people navigate alone. It is educational, forward-looking, and action-oriented — designed to help individuals and couples build skills, develop self-awareness, and create something better than what they currently have.

It is not therapy. Therapy is clinical work done by licensed mental health professionals, focused on diagnosing and treating psychological conditions and processing trauma. Coaching assumes you are fundamentally healthy and works with you to build toward something more alive, more connected, and more fulfilling. If deep trauma is significantly shaping your intimate life, therapy may be the right first step — and a good coach will always tell you that clearly.

What Intimacy Coaching Actually Addresses

The scope of intimacy coaching is broader than most people expect. It is rarely just about sex. More often it touches:

Closing the Gap Between the Intimacy You Have and the One You Want

Intimacy coaching helps you identify and address the specific disconnect — whether that's desire mismatch, emotional distance, or a loss of aliveness — that's keeping you from the relationship you actually long for.

Reconnecting With Your Body, Your Desire, and Your Authentic Self

Many people have spent years living from the neck up, disconnected from their own erotic energy and sense of aliveness — coaching helps you find your way back to embodied presence and genuine desire.

Building the Language and Safety to Actually Connect

From understanding your unique erotic wiring to breaking communication patterns that keep couples stuck, coaching gives you the tools to have the intimate conversations most people spend a lifetime avoiding.

Who's It For

Intimacy coaching is for individuals and couples who are fundamentally healthy and ready to invest intentionally in this dimension of their lives. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit. Some of the most motivated and growth-oriented clients are people who have good relationships and good lives — and have decided that their intimate lives deserve the same attention they give everything else.

It is for you if you feel a persistent gap between where you are and where you want to be. If something feels flat, routine, or less alive than it used to. If you've never had a guide for this part of life and you're ready to change that.

How I Work

I'm Scott Schwertly — founder of Coelle, a guided audio intimacy platform, and a sex and intimacy coach working with a select number of individuals and couples privately. My approach draws on somatic and body-based practices, Jaiya's Erotic Blueprint framework, David Deida's polarity work, and my own ongoing personal work in this space.

I work with clients who are ready to stop leaving their intimate lives to chance.
